Success Story

On behalf of the board, staff, and clients of Community Recovery Resources (CoRR), I’d like to thank you for your generosity and support of our programs.

I would also like to share a story with you that will help you understand how your donation impacts our community.  This is a story about Katie.  If you were to meet Katie, you would think she was the typical all-American wife and mother. Maybe she would remind you of the nice lady who lived down the street or the checker at the grocery store who had a beautiful smile as she greets you at the check-stand. Meeting Katie, you would feel refreshed by her bright smile and bubbly energy. Katie was and is all those things.  It would never have occurred to you to think that Katie was also addicted to methamphetamine.

Katie is a mother, wife, and neighbor who battled her addiction for seven years. But she reached bottom; addicted; arrested; her son taken from her.  She desperately needed help. She received that help when she entered Hope House, CoRR’s residential program for women and children. Katie began her journey and was eventually able to reunify with her 2 year old son Parker. After successfully completing Hope House, she and her son found safe refuge in one of CoRR’s C.A.S.T.L.E (Clean and Sober Transitional Living Environment) houses.

The newspaper and news reports are filled with stories about drug addicts committing serious crimes. We hear about the chronic users and the problems they cause. While those people need to experience the consequences of their behavior, there are individuals like Katie who need help before they get to that point. Your donation makes that critical difference.

This story has a happy ending, largely because of your support.  Katie has been sober for over a year now.  She, her son and her husband are reunited and living on their own as good parents, neighbors, employees and members of our community.

We sincerely appreciate your donation it truly makes a difference in the lives of women, children and families that need our help. Your contribution literally saves lives.

Sincerely,
Warren Daniels
