Gratitude and Giving go hand in hand

December 2, 2013

Every year about this time, we’re presented with countless opportunities to give. As we gathered to give thanks on Thursday, some of us celebrated in the homes of family or friends. Others shared fellowship with recovery family and friends.

Either way, gratitude for new lives in recovery and hope for those still struggling was in our hearts and minds. But what if there was a day specifically designated to give a gift of hope?

This year, December 3rd has been declared to be Giving Tuesday . . . a day defined by kindness, compassion, and generosity. By giving today, you are partnering with CoRR to help families recover and thrive.

Tell everyone you can about how you give and why it matters, and join a national celebration of our great tradition of generosity.

A Gift for Life

November 27, 2012

After the shopping binge of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, here’s a way to give back: the newly minted day called Giving Tuesday.

We have a day for giving thanks. We have two for getting deals. This year, you can be one of the first to help create Giving Tuesday: opening day for the giving season.

Today, Tuesday November 27, 2012 charities, families, businesses and individuals are coming together to transform the way people think about, talk about and participate in the giving season.

It’s a simple idea, and it feels good.  How do you, your family, your community, your company/ organization join in acts of giving? If you give to CoRR, we thank you, and can assure you that your investment is a meaningful one, with dividends of community health, safety, and pride.

Tell everyone you can about how you give and why it matters, and join a national celebration of our great tradition of generosity.

Soroptimist International of Historic Auburn: Angels of CoRR this year!

November 20, 2012

Soroptimist Angels of Historic Auburn are making the holidays for families at CoRR a little merrier this year!

For the past 22 years, Soroptimist International of Historic Auburn and  the local  community have provided a merrier Christmas for children in need in Placer County.  This year, they have adopted CoRR families, and will be making many children’s wishes come true.

For those of you who would like to participate in this project, select an angel tag from one of the Angel trees(from any location listed below), choose a new gift valued at $20-$25 from a local merchant using the suggestions listed on the tag and return the gift wrapped to one of the many trees located at the following local businesses in Auburn: Argonauta Salon, The Artistic Salon, Auburn Needleworks, First Northern Bank, First US Community Credit Union, K-Mart, Mel’s Diner, Pizzaz Salon, Ropers Jewelers (HWY 49), and Visions Salon.

CoRR would like to thank Soroptimist International and the local community for their support this holiday season and throughout the year.
